The Hmong Breastfeeding Coalition
The Hmong Breastfeeding Coalition (HBC) continues the Hmong community’s storytelling tradition and utilizes it to educate and engage Hmong parents and families in discussions about breastfeeding and maternal and child health. In this presentation, HBC members, Zoua Lee and Tiffany Pao Yang, will share how the coalition uses storytelling to create culturally-relevant breastfeeding resources to re-normalize breastfeeding in the Hmong community.
Zoua Lee, a Ramsey County WIC Breastfeeding Peer, and Tiffany Pao Yang, a Hmong breastfeeding mom, are active members of HBC. HBC is powered by local Hmong community members, leaders, and health professionals working to improve and protect Hmong maternal and child health. The group is based in the Twin Cities |
